Duolingo is a gamified language learning app that makes picking up a language easy and fun for free. To ensure that users keep coming back instead of dropping the app, a deal with Starbucks would create a new reward within the Duolingo shop that ensures user retention, as well as offering a colorful new side to Starbucks.
Adverts on social media and Duolingo’s home app alert users to the deal. Starbucks customers can also be alerted by new printed cup designs on paper hot cups, plastic cold cups, and reusable purchasable cups. Within the Duolingo store, the deal is adequately accommodated within the existing app model.
